About Me

I'm originally from Southern India and grew up in the UK with my sis and parents. I am a mix of Indian, Vietnamese and Chinese and feel very lucky to have these influences in my life.

I graduated from University of Brighton with a BA (HONS) in Fashion Textile Design with Business Studies, after which I trained in Paris with two prestigious Trend Agencies and a design studio supplying Couture fabrics. After eating a lot of cheese, soaking up the Parisian way of life and of course, gaining invaluable knowledge about the design industry, I returned to my native country India for one year, where I led the Print and Embroidery design teams for a global textile supplier.

On my return to the UK, I used my know-how to open an independent store in Lewes, East Sussex.  I found myself in the role of Design Director for my own clothing, accessories and home interior range. I managed the production and manufacturing of these products by travelling back and forth between India and the UK.

After several trading years, I returned to freelance Textile and Print Design for Home Interior fabrics and Kid’s Apparel. My designs have sold to John Lewis, Laura Ashley and M&S in the UK, and Martha Stewart, Kohl’s, Century21, Pottery Barn and Macy’s in the US. Now, I have become more accomplished in the US design industry and my areas of expertise cover: Paper (cards, giftwrap, stationary), Home Interior fabrics (tabletop, bedding, wallpaper, rugs), Baby and Juvenile  (apparel, home products). My designs are sold through the amazing Brooklyn Nest Studio based in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and I've had the incredible opportunity to design for NASA, American Greetings, The Gift Wrap Company and Creative Converting, to name just a few.

I regularly post design inspiration and latest news via Instagram, Twitter and my Blog. I am also a regular features writer for the online design magazine WriteOnTrend. Thanks for reading and hope to meet you somewhere in the world!
